Skills and Training

Part of the commitment of the regeneration of Camp Hill is to ensure long-term benefits for the community, including improved access to jobs and training. We want to be able to deliver an employable workforce to meet the demands of new businesses.

As part of the Phase 3 redevelopment a detailed programme has been developed through the Skills & Training Task Group for Phase 3 involving officers from Pride in Camp Hill, Barratt, Bromford Housing, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council & Warwickshire County Council.  The outputs / outcomes will be as follows:

  • 36 Year 10 students engaged on training programme
  • 6 Modern Apprenticeships
  • Up to 20 Adults on Work experience programme
  • Re-engagement of all students attending the programme into main stream education
  • Provision of a vocational course within the heart of the community
  • Reduction in the overall number of  N.E.E.T.S (not in employment education or training)
  • Assisting the local economy by securing local jobs for local people
  • Promoting the benefits of self – employment opportunities
  • Assisting in the reduction of anti-social behaviour within the community
  • Providing students with advice and guidance on progression routes and application methods
  • Develop and expand the links with the local community by providing a partnership training centre
  • Developing a multi partnership building allowing the synergy between 2 community based projects enhancing the communities potential
  • Financial investment from Barratts via Pride in Camp Hill to secure the additional facility needed for delivery, in addition to a revenue contribution towards the training programme,
  • Contributing to the Warwickshire County Councils “narrowing the gap” strategy
