During the week commencing 21st August every household in the Borough will receive a Household Enquiry Form showing the details currently held for that address. Residents are asked to check the accuracy of the details, then amend or confirm as appropriate.
Responding online or by Freephone (see your form for the number) is the simplest, quickest and cheapest way to respond. If you do that you will not need to return the paper form.
Please note that if your name is not on the Electoral Register you will not be able to vote in any elections or referendums and it could even affect your ability to obtain credit such as mortgages or loans. Paying Council Tax does not automatically put you on the Electoral Register.
You don’t have to vote but failure to respond to the Annual Canvass could lead to a fine of up to £1000.
A revised register will be published and available for inspection from 1st December 2017 following completion of the annual canvass. You are encouraged to check your details to ensure that the information held is correct.
