The Nuneaton Remembrance Sunday Parade will take place on 12th November, 10.30am to 12.30 noon at Riversley Park in Nuneaton. There will be a 2 minutes silence at 11.00am to remember the fallen.
On this Remembrance Sunday, residents and visitors to Nuneaton and Bedworth will remember those who have given their lives in the service of our country at four parades and services held across the Borough. The Nuneaton Parade will go from the Market Place in Nuneaton town centre and along Coton Road to the War Memorial in Riversley Park, around which the Service of Remembrance will take place. Wreaths will be laid on the Memorial by those present and a single wreath will be placed at the foot of the ‘Old Bill’ statue.
Following the service and wreath laying, the parade will leave Riversley Park and return along Coton Road to Nuneaton town centre. The parade will acknowledge the Gurkha Memorial with an ‘eyes right’ salute as they march past. Carrying on to the town Centre the parade will then pass Nuneaton Town Hall where the Mayor of Nuneaton and Bedworth, as first citizen of the Borough, will take the salute from the passing parade.
Please note: there will be temporary road closures around this event affecting the disabled parking bays on Coton Road, Queens Road, Coventry Street, Market Place, Chapel Street, Roanne Ringway and Vicarage Street. The closures will be in place to make sure the parade occurs safely.
