Warwickshire County Council (WCC) is helping people achieve their New Year goals through their innovative health improvement programme, ‘Fitter Futures Warwickshire.’ Fitter Futures provides confidential and supportive services to help people to become fitter, stay well, feel good and lose weight if desired.
The four key services offered by Fitter Futures are:
- Discounted 12 week physical activity and healthy lifestyle referral programmes for young people aged 12 – 16 and adults aged 16+.
- Free 12 week weight management referral programmes for young people aged 12 – 16 and adults aged 16+.
- Free 9 week family weight management programmes for families with children, aged 4 – 12, who are overweight.
- Health lifestyle information for families with children aged 0 – 5.
WCC has appointed 4 organisations: Nuneaton and Bedworth Leisure Trust, Slimming World, Change Makers and George Eliot Hospital to deliver these support programmes along with local leisure centres and facilities. Referrals can be made directly by a health or social care professional or a pharmacy.
There are some criteria that users will need to meet before they can access the services. To find out if you are eligible, visit the Fitter Futures website.
