In the biggest and best Recycle Week ever, Recycle Now is tasking local residents to go above and beyond to protect the environment by focusing on getting their recycling right during Recycling Week.
With billboard adverstising across the nation, a national tour and a huge scale digital campaign, this years Recycle Week is the biggest and boldest yet; celebrating the fact that more and more of us are recycling.
In fact as a nation we are recycling more than ever before, but it is important we get it right. New research from Recycle Now shows while people in the UK say doing their bit for the environment is one of their primary motivations for recycling; over three quarters of UK households (76%) add one or more items to their recycling collection that is not accepted locally, which can be problematic in the recycling process. Meanwhile, more than half (54%) put at least one item in their general rubbish that could be recycled.
Don’t worry though, Recycle Now is here to help by telling us about the simple things we can all do to make our recycling even better. To find out more and to use the Recycling Locator to find out what to recycle where you live go to www.recyclenow.com/local-recycling.
What and how we recycle really matters. Recycling an item rather than throwing it in the general rubbish bin means that it will be dealt with in the most environmentally friendly way, keeping materials in use and out of the environment.
