Anybody who’s seen the news lately will know that Arctic weather is on the way.  Cold weather can lead to serious health problems and can kill.  Older people, those with chronic health conditions and people with a disability are particularly at risk.  Cold and flu viruses as well as stomach bugs, such as the Norovirus, are also now circulating.

Check in on friends, relatives and those nearby who may be vulnerable to the cold. Make sure they have enough food and medication when the weather gets colder.

It is important to keep warm and healthy by keeping rooms heated to at least 18ºC throughout the day and night. Wear suitable clothing – several thin layers is better than one thick layer.  For more information on how to keep warm in the cold weather go to www.warwickshire.gov.uk/keepwarm.
