Rosie Goodwin opens the Cheers event

Local residents from Camp Hill, Stockingford and Grove Farm turned out in force to chat to local Authoress Rosie Goodwin and get free expert help on employment and careers at a local Job and Careers fair.

Qualified staff were on hand at the June event, organised by Camp Hill Employment and Enterprise Resources (CHEERS), to provide support for CV writing, finding suitable vacancies and ensuring that individuals have the best possible change of being successful when applying for positions.

The event also celebrated a funding boost from the Coalfields Regeneration Trust (CRT), which is helping to support the project.

CHEERS Manager, Isobel Fitzgerald said: "We were really pleased with the turn out at the event and delighted that Rosie came along to support us.

"The success of CHEERs is very much down to our accessible and qualified staff, that provides a personal service tailored to individual needs. The CRT funding has enabled us to expand on our success and provide our popular service beyond Camp Hill."

For information and advice on employment and careers, local residents are welcome to drop-in or make appointments to see qualified staff at the Opportunities Centre in Pools Road Industrial Estate or the Grove Farm Community Centre from 9.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 9.30am to 1.30pm on Fridays.
