The CHESS Centre

Situated on Cedar Road, at the heart of the new Village Centre, Camp Hill's CHESS (Camp Hill Sports and social) Centre is a first rate community facility. It boasts one of the most well used libraries in Warwickshire, a community cafe and a Youth club which runs a variety of projects including climbing, fishing and music.

Camp Hill Library

Diners Delight

Diners Delight are a social enterprise community café, serving fresh food in the CHESS centre on Cedar Road. Situated on the first floor, next to the library, Diners Delight serve hot and cold food to eat in or take away. The Cafe is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 9:00am - 2:00pm.

They can also provide buffets for any events or parties you have coming up. Buffets are availiable from Mondays to Saturdays.

Camp Hill Luncheon Club

For the over 50's Camp Hill Luncheon Club meets every Tuesday at the CHESS centre, from 12 noon until 3pm. Every week a hot meal is laid on and diners have the chance to socialise and catch up and join in a game of bingo. For more information contact CHESS on 02476 757 100.

Camp Hill Community Radio


Camp Hill Community Radio Ltd is the brainchild of local Resident Kirk Thomson, who got together with a group of intersted individuals to discuss what opportunities a local, community radio station could offer. After a local consultation the group widened its participation and created a management and steering group made up of community members and professionals. The group have since attracted funding to start training and development as well as continuing to develop and set up the radio station.

The group is currently applying for its license to broadcast as radio statio which will offer:
• Community news
• Local talent
• Local agencies support information broadcast
• Opportunities for people of all ages to be involved
• Unique communications that will support the needs of local people in such a way that will enable them to gain new skills
• Opportunities to recognise and broadcast all the good and hard work that community member and others have brought to the area.
• A lasting legacy long after the re-generation is complete
• Opportunities for people to be involved by both being a listener and actively developing the community through various opportunities

The group also has a mobile studio that offers unique communications and radio experiences for adults and young people of all ages including afterschool activities in radio and events communication and support in interview skills and techniques. For example, Camp Hill Community radio Ltd is running communications sessions at the Adult Learners week in May 2010. The mobile studio can also be used by organisations to promote events.

Camp Hill Community Radio Ltd currently have a number of unique audio communications skills sessions to help individual’s development or you can volunteer with us at a number of events etc.

Camphill Festival

The successful annual Camphill festival, which celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, is organised by the Camphill Festival committee.

Every August crowds enjoy a huge range of stalls and activities. Last year over 1000 residents attended and enjoyed activities such as football tournaments, dance, circus skills, games and rides.

Cedar Road Residents Association

Cedar Tree RA is a local residents association. Steve Wilks, chair of the Cedar Tree Residents' Association, has worked hard over the years to help improve the area, including  teaming up with the police and Neighbourhood Watch on various community safety initiatives. Particular highlights include Steve Wilks' visit to Downing Street to meet  Tony Blair for a ceremony honouring the Taking a Stand Award, and also the successful Boots and Laces Football Coaching Programme.
