The Phase Three development is on course, with preferred development partner Barratt expected to be on site in 2009.

Phase Three regeneration programme
Phase Three will transform the area, with 370 properties demolished to make way for more than 800 new homes. The development contract is being worked up and includes:
- A minimum of 25% new affordable homes
- Quality standards - eco homes, sustainable homes, Building for Life, Secured by Design
- Energy efficiency
- The creation of opportunities for people, through a skills and development programme, which includes the use of local labour and local services
- Improved transport links.
Compulsory Purchase Order
To continue the regeneration, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council (NBBC) have made a Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) to include an area known as 2a of the Phase Three development.
A CPO is a legal process that enables Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, to acquire the necessary land and interests to take forward the development.
On September 5 2008 the council made the order and notices were served to all known persons who had an interest affected by the CPO.

Statement of case
Following the making of the order, two objections to it were made. This meant the Council had to serve a Statement of Case. The Council's Statement of Case was served on the objectors and the Government Office for London on 6 January 2009.
A copy of the Statement of Case and of the documents to be referred to, or put in evidence at the inquiry, (recorded in section 18 of the statement) are displayed below in the attachments. Click on the attachment to view the contents.
