Phase 2 – the vibrant Village Heart of Camp Hill
Phase 2 will be the heart of Camp Hill with friendly and inclusive community spaces, busy retail spaces and green modern residential spaces.
The community spaces in the Village Centre, with the CHESS building at the heart, will be where local people can get involved with the heart of the community, make new friends and expand their interests.
Camp Hill Education, Sports and Social Centre (CHESS)
Camp Hill’s CHESS Building is a real community hub. Opened in November 2007, it was jointly funded by Warwickshire County Council, the Learning and Skills Council (now closed), Advantage West Midlands (now closed) and Pride in Camp Hill. As you enter the building there is a sports hall which can be hired on your left and as you carry on through the double doors there is the youth club on your right. The youth club provides many activities for young people including cooking, music, pool and art. If you go upstairs there is an IT suite which can be hired and a much valued community library. The library is a real advantage for the area as so many local Warwickshire libraries have recenty closed. There is also a a multitude of meeting rooms small and large that can be rented with access to a fully working kitchen.
Local groups are keen to take advantage of the space offered, such as the Over 50’s Luncheon Cub, the Fit and Hearty Group and the Short Matt Bowls group among others.

The village centre retail space has various units where residents can take care of many needs such as filling their empty stomachs or getting their hair cut. Some of the businesses on offer are Boots Chemist, Hairess Hairdressing and Royal Beauty, Seven General Stores and Post Office, Seven Chip Shop, Copper Beech Cafe and Ladbrookes the bookmakers.
The residential space is split into two parts: Renaissance, which is finished, and Eton View, which is still under construction.
In the Renaissance space Lovell Partnerships have delivered 232 new homes, of which 80 properties are affordable.
On completion Lovell Partnerships will have delivered 59 houses.
